Peter Heg (1957) je ugledni danski pisac. Godine 1984. je magistrirao književnost na Univerzitetu Kopenhagen. Pre nego što je postao pisac, radio je kao mornar na brodovima i baletan, a bavio se i mačevanjem i planinarenjem (što je kasnije koristio u svojim romanima). Danas živi u Kopenhagenu sa suprugom i dvoje djece. Njegovo najpoznatije delo je roman Osećaj gospođice Smile za sneg, iz 1992. godine, koje je postalo međunarodni bestseler, a 1997. godine je adaptiran u holivudski igrani film sa Džulijom Ormond u glavnoj ulozi.
